Letter from the Director

Mosaic Templars Cultural Center - Thursday, January 14, 2021

Director Christina Shutt (right) talks with Sean Clancy, reporter with the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, during a recent tour of renovations happening at the museum. Director Christina ShuttRenovations are continuing at MTCC, and we are excited to see our engaging and interactive children's gallery and theater slowly come to life.

To that end, we must temporarily close through Jan. 16 so construction crews can lay ductwork in the museum galleries. We will reopen to the public on Monday, Jan. 18, in observance of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.

Rest assured that staff are working and available to answer questions and conduct virtual visits and that our artifacts will not be affected by the construction.

As part of our mission to preserve, interpret and celebrate African American history and culture in Arkansas, our upcoming renovations will provide the museum with a safe, dynamic and engaging place for families to talk, play and explore together. Arkansans deserve a state-of-the-art experience at MTCC, which is why we’re working to raise the remaining $1.5 million to complete upgrades to our permanent exhibit.
