Black Men Matter honors MTCC

Mosaic Templars Cultural Center - Thursday, September 29, 2016

Mosaic Templars Cultural Center was delighted to be selected as a 2016 honoree by Black Men Matter for its efforts to collect, preserve, interpret and celebrate Arkansas's African American history, culture and community from 1870 to the present, and to inform and educate the public about African American's achievements – especially in business, politics, and the arts.

MTCC Director Christina Shutt accepted the award on behalf of the museum at a Sept. 24 ceremony. Also in attendance were Assistant Director Quantia “Key” Fletcher and Development Director Angela Newkirk.

The Black Men Matter organization was established to promote unity within the community. It strives to empower, educate and honor achievements made by African American males and organizations within the state of Arkansas. Black Men Matter’s goal is to conduct community outreach events to bring African Americans together under the umbrella of oneness and love while celebrating the beauty and uniqueness that lies within our great heritage for future generations to follow.
