Celebrate Real Jewelry Month with Arkansas Made, Black Crafted Jewelry at MTCC

Mosaic Templars Cultural Center - Tuesday, November 28, 2017

November is Real Jewelry Month, and what better way to celebrate than by getting yourself or a loved one a piece of handmade jewelry by an Arkansas Made, Black Crafted artist sold exclusively at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center (MTCC) Museum Store?

Whether it was worn to promote individuality or to denote social class, jewelry has been around since the beginning of humanity. Thousands of years of advancement and innovation have enabled jewelry to spread from an exclusive privilege of the rich to a widely celebrated art form worn by billions. It has become a timeless staple in the history of our world and it can oftentimes shed a little beauty on even the hardest of times. Jewelry alone can tell a story, and the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center is committed to sharing and preserving those stories.

The museum store specializes in a wide variety of merchandise connected to Arkansas’s African American history, life and culture. It also carries an assortment of handbags, scarves, head wraps, bath and body products, woodcarvings, pottery and more. All sales and proceeds support the museum’s mission to collect, preserve, interpret and celebrate Arkansas’s African American history, culture and community, and to inform and educate the public about African American achievements.

Another unique way we are celebrating style here at MTCC is through a special event called A Night with Black Crafted: Fashion & Trunk Show. Happening from 6 – 8 p.m. on December 1, 2017, this evening of fashion celebrates Arkansas Made Black Crafted artisans with a cat walk through our exhibits, featuring designs by Korto Momolu, PNRC Botanicals, Jerald Mitchell and more. The event is free and includes live entertainment, food and fun. A R.S.V.P. is preferred. Sign up by calling (501) 683-3593 or by email at
