Children's choir to perform at MTCC

Mosaic Templars Cultural Center - Thursday, May 19, 2016

The Rocky Mountain Children’s Choir (RMCC) from Denver, Colo., will perform at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center (MTCC) in Little Rock on June 8.

The performance will feature songs celebrating the American Civil Rights Movement and is part of RMCC’s “Note by Note — Building a Better World” tour, which is the culmination for a year in which the singers learned about the history and importance of the Civil Rights Movement through music and special guest speakers.

Highlights of the year’s programming include presentations by Dr. Arthur Jones of Denver’s Spirituals Project and Ms. Carlotta LaNier, a member of the Little Rock Nine.

RMCC’s tour includes visits to significant music venues and Civil Rights landmarks in Memphis, Tenn.; Little Rock; Helena; Birmingham, Ala.; Selma, Ala.; and New Orleans, La.; as well as collaborative concerts with local community groups.

The concert will take place at 5:30 p.m. on June 8 at MTCC, 501 W. 9th St. in Little Rock, and is free and open to the public. For more information or to reserve space for a group, contact MTCC at 501-683-3593.
